Living Development Concepts, Inc.

Henry Miller has lived in two worlds for most of his adult life: as a state government employee and in real estate, selling, managing construction and developing sites.

He is the Executive Director of Living Development Concepts, Inc. Throughout his 35 years as a realtor, Henry noticed the need for housing for households earning less than 80% of the area median income.  His passion for helping low-to-moderate families purchase their first home was driven by a goal to help them think bigger. In 2001, Henry created Living Development Concepts, Inc., which received its 501 (c)(3) federal tax exempt status a year later.

Since its inception, Henry has worked tirelessly over two decades to assist more than 700 households purchase their first home, as well as develop and sell more than 200 single-family homes. LDC is committed to changing lives through homeownership by concentrating on housing education, improving lives, and assisting in providing good quality affordable housing to residents of the Middle Tennessee area.

When he retired after 30 years in state government, Henry was a senior auditor responsible for eligibility and accuracy of members’ retirement benefit, lump sum death benefits and many other issues related to retirees. Volunteer activities include the Big PayBack online fundraising event for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Henry is hoping that participation in the Real Estate Development (RED) Academy will provide training and opportunity for developers who have long been excluded from participating.

Real estate developers of color have been underrepresented for years. This partnership will give them the training and opportunity they need to compete and collaborate on future large-scale affordable housing projects.
