Real Estate Development

Ernest Williams always had the bug for real estate development and took a nudge from his to get his Master’s in Real Estate Development from Georgetown.

During his 16-year career in finance, he oversaw major real estate redevelopment and revitalization projects, led large-scale acquisitions, built residential real estate portfolios, supervised regulatory and compliance projects, and created financial accounting models for public and private institutions. This foundation in project management and development was the perfect groundwork needed to succeed in opening his own firm.

Wiltrust Group, LLC, formed in 2019, specializes in consulting, analysis, and leveraging mid-level, multi-family projects. Clients include Georgetown University Capstone, Prince George’s County Redevelopment Authority, and the city of Capitol Heights, he’s leading a feasibility study of affordable senior development construction.

In 2020, Ernest became the senior manager for redevelopment and revitalization for the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County in Largo, MD. In this capacity, he manages major real estate development projects and performs oversight of community and grant programs aimed at property improvement and homeownership. He has performed similar roles as vice president of finance for H48 Partners in Hagerstown and corporate finance professional for CSRA, INC/General Dynamics IT in Falls Church. In these roles, Ernest has overseen multi-million dollar budgets and executed successful development projects throughout the DMV.

As a Washington, D.C. native, Ernest has long witnessed the effects of large-scale gentrification that has driven native Washingtonians, including family and friends, out of the region. One of Ernest’s personal goals is to create opportunities to assist people to stay in their homes, ensuring a diverse landscape for the nation’s capital.

Ernest holds a Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Maryland College Park. He sits on the investment committee for St. Paul’s Episcopal Rock Creek Church and serves on the Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Board of Directors.

One of my main goals and purposes is to leverage my real estate development knowledge to try to figure out a way to help keep some of longtime residents in DC as opposed to having this large influx of gentrification.
