Parallax Development Group

Howard M. Ervin is a native New Yorker who spent his early childhood in a working-class, affordable housing co-op. It was a great experience for him and his family that enabled them to live in a safe, clean, and healthy environment, providing stability in his life. A stability that he feels is responsible for his successes and inspiration to replicate this experience through his dream to provide families with the same opportunities and support he was given as a child.

As the Managing Member of Parallax Development Group, Howard currently oversees the development of two new construction affordable housing opportunities in suburban Maryland with an aggregate value of $60,000,000. Howard has been a part of the commercial real estate industry for more than 20 years. His years of experience as a market research analyst, investment broker, project facilitator, and advisor sharpened his talents to a fine point, leading him to open Parallax Development Group in 2012. One year later, Howard expanded his reach into the market and opened Parallax Real Estate Services, a third-party consulting and services firm.

He is an expert strategist who understands the importance of developing and maintaining partnerships with public and private stakeholders to ensure success.

Parallax Development Group focuses on affordable multi-family development units with an emphasis on senior and family housing. The original concept behind the company was to join forces with other affordable housing developers to strengthen buying power. Sourcing new construction and land opportunities is a priority; his dream in the making. Currently in the pipeline is a 90-unit, new construction, senior housing development with 60 affordable townhouse units in the blueprints that he hopes will offer needed stability for others.

There are a lot of good, smart, intelligent developers out here that are underserved. And the reason is lack of capital. The knowledge is there. The ideas are there. We just need the resources.
